Freehold ownership grants the buyer permanent ownership of both the property and the land it sits on. In Dubai, freehold is available to foreigners in designated freehold zones (Downtown, Marina, Palm, Business Bay, JVC, etc.). Freehold is the gold standard for investors because it offers perpetual ownership, full resale rights, and visa-eligibility benefits.
Leasehold grants the right to use a property for a fixed term — commonly up to 99 years in Dubai. At the end of the lease, ownership reverts to the freeholder. Leasehold is rare in Dubai's investor-grade residential stock.
Most new-launch off-plan projects in Dubai's prime areas are freehold. 4C Homes only lists freehold inventory unless a leasehold project is explicitly flagged.
